125g butter

250g dark cooking chocolate broken into pieces

3 eggs lightly beaten

1 cup of soft
brown sugar

1 1/4 cups of
plain flour

1/2 cup of cocoa (sieved)

200g chocolate chips

1 cup hazelnuts

1. Preheat oven to 200deg C.

2. Spread hazelnuts on a baking tray and roast in oven for 5-8 minutes to until you can smell them. If they have their skins on gently roll them in a tea towel until their skins have come off. Roughly chop them and set aside.

3. Place butter and chocolate in a saucepan and stir over a low heat until melted and smooth.

4. Transfer the chocolate mixture to a large bowl and add beaten eggs, brown sugar, sieved flour and cocoa.

5. Stir.

6. Add chocolate chips and hazelnuts and mix until combined.

7. Leave mixture for 5 minutes and then drop dessertspoons full onto baking trays lined with paper. Remember to allow room for spreading.

8. Bake cookies for 10 mins or until tops are firm. Allow to stand on trays for a couple of minutes before transferring onto a wire rack to cool completely.

9. Invite some friends over and share with a pot of Friendship Tea.
