1/4 cup butter

1 cup packed
brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 tablespoons milk

1 large organic egg

1 cup plain flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chopped pecans


   
 
 

1. Heat oven to 180 C. Grease the bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan.

2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over a low heat; remove from heat. When cool, stir in brown sugar, vanilla, milk, and lightly beaten egg.

3. Sift together the dry ingredients and stir into the mixture. Add the pecans and pour into the prepared tin.

4. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes in tin placed on a wire rack. For brownies, cut into 4 rows by 4 rows while warm. Share with a pot of Love Love Tea after Sunday lunch.
