Hello,

I love the change of seasons. There's always an expectant feeling of something new. I'm looking forward to wooly jumpers and wearing my knee length boots not to mention big long loopy scarves. By January I'll be dreaming about wearing my summer sandals and the smell of BBQ charcoal again.

You're a star Older peoples' week Helping Tiny Hands

You're a star
.
Do you have someone in your life that is an absolute star? Someone who is always doing lovely things for you and never asking for anything in return?

This month we're launching our latest product - Teastar. We've packed 10 loose leaf organic teabags into a star shaped box. Each teabag comes wrapped with a different message - a little like a fortune cookie. Simply peer inside and choose your favourite brew.

Teastar is the perfect gift to take for a dinner party or lunch or if you just want to say thanks - you're a star.

To celebrate our latest product we're going to give away free stars. Simply reply to this email with your friend's name and address and why you think they're a star. We'll choose the 12 best answers and they'll receive a star in the post.

Don't forget to include your name and address so they know you put them up for it.

Older peoples' week
.
The first week of October is International Older Peoples' Week and we're celebrating the occasion by co-hosting 100 tea parties across the UK.

On the 5th October we'll be sharing the Friendship at a Tea Party at Harrow School in North London. The event at Harrow School will be the finale to a week of spectacular events all over the country, which are being run by Superjam and Today was Fun in conjuction with Waitrose, John Lewis and Contact The Elderly.

There'll be musical acts at the event to accompany the click clacking of knitting needles.

Along with tea, scones and cake, everyone at the events will be provided with wool and taught how to knit (if they don't already know). We're hoping that everyone will knit a square, we'll sew all of the squares together and produce hundreds of blankets for an orphanage in Central India.

Helping Tiny Hands
.
We recently donated some tea to a worthy cause. It was to help Joe's mum raise money for the Action Medical Research "Touching Tine Lives' campaign.'

In memory of Lily (Joe's niece) we were proud to support projects which help find the answers to life - threatening pregnancy complications, and also helping sick and vulnerable babies.

Tea time
Autumn has arrived in the UK and along with it a wonderful selection of English Apples.

With a fruit bowl full of delicious eating apples I turned to one of my favourite books - The Kitchen Diaries by Nigel Slater for some inspiration.

This cake is best enjoyed warm from the oven so choose a chilly afternoon, have the kettle on stand by and get baking.
